Gearing Up!

Howdy All,

I may be a bit crazy but I am in for another year on this awesome adventure! For those of you new to Spinning, my name is Devon Lambert, I am a second year student at UC Davis majoring in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Conservation Biology and minoring in Geology (I know its a mouthful) . My hobbies include, backpacking, anything whitewater, and of course, long walks on the beach. I joined the Spinning team last year and rode along with Mark from Colorado to Kentucky, and am still questioning how he convinced me to ride along with him for another month this year. Anyways, enough about me, let’s talk about the campaign! We are extremely excited to be welcoming several new members to the team this year and are hoping that this year will be our best yet! As this year’s community presentation “specialist”, I have been working very hard to develop an awesome presentation for us to show on our ride as well as at our event on May 10th. In doing my research it is clear that the oceans are doing very poorly, we are seeing so many issues and yet very few are being addressed across the globe. It’s time for a stance, and sharks are a great place to start.

Our route this year will be from Louisville, KY to Yorktown, VA and then up the East coast finishing in Washington DC. The total ride is about 1100 miles. Along the way we will be talking to almost everyone we meet and spreading the word about shark finning.

Well as the life of a college student goes, I gotta run! I’m already late for class! I hope to see everyone at the benefit concert May 10th and will talk to you again soon.

Until then,

Hakuna Matata,

Imageps. I think this is how Mark and I should do it this year, he pedals, I take pictures, seems fair to me.
